If you wish to make an application for your child to start in Reception, Year 3 at a Junior School, or Year 7 during the Autumn term 2025, you will need to make a LATE application.
For Transfer to Secondary School, Transfer to Junior School and First Admission to Reception for the school year 2026/27 - please see the timetable below or refer to the school admission pages on the Norfolk County Council (NCC) website for more information. If you do not live in Norfolk you must apply to your home local authority, even if you want to apply for a place at a Norfolk school.
If you need to transfer your child to a different school at any other time, you can find information on the Moving schools during the school year webpage on the NCC website. This process is considered as an In Year application. This applies when you are seeking a place at a Norfolk school, regardless of where you live.
If your child holds an Education Health & Care Plan:
- for the main transfer rounds (the normal point of entry), your child’s plan will be reviewed shortly to recognise that your child is moving or starting school. You will receive further information from your child’s Education Health & Care Plan Co-ordinator. You should not complete an application for the Admissions Team.
- for an In Year admission, you should contact your child’s EHCP Co-ordinator to discuss a change of schools and you should not complete an application for the Admissions Team.
You can find information on the admission arrangements at www.norfolk.gov.uk/admissions
You can check your nearest school to your home address at Norfolk Schools and Learning Providers - Schoolfinder and check your catchment area at www.whereilive.norfolk.gov.uk
Transport is only provided to your nearest or nearest catchment school subject to distance. If you do not include your nearest or nearest catchment school as one of your preferences, you will not be entitled to home to school transport to any alternative school offered by the Local Authority, even if a place is not offered at one of your preferred schools. If your child is offered a place at a preferred school which is not your nearest or nearest catchment school, you will be responsible for transport to that school for the duration of the child's time at that school. Information on home to school transport can be found at: https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/school-and-college-transport/home-to-school-transport
